summer was rain pouring
on the studio roof,
the mercy of heaven
falling fresh in morning,
his dew cleansing,
making all things new,
his good news poured
in paint,
a fresh start
for the saints,
the body singing
after the scattering,
seeing that
what the enemy
meant for evil
only led us to
the sweetness of
the splattering
of sprinkles
on ice cream.
